"a ton of lovely memories
attached to this record"

Nina Simone - Little Girl Blue

One of the first singers I really loved. I went through a huge phase in high school of listening to a ton of crooners, jazz, and rockabilly. Billie Holiday, Chet Baker, Donny Hathaway and Nina Simone were some of my favorites, but I have a ton of lovely memories attached to this record.

Modern Baseball - You’re Gonna Miss It All

Probably in my top 5 favorite bands. Their lyrics spoke to me so much as a teenager, yet I always find myself relating to them now even more. They write a ton about growing pains, leaving your childhood behind and the grief that comes with that. As a 20-something, it’s almost impossible not to relate.

Mitski - Be The Cowboy

Another writer who I just adore. It was super hard to pick just one album by mitski, but I find this one is in my rotation the most.

Adam Green - Friends Of Mine

I found this album randomly late last year, and I’m so happy I did. I showed it to my best friend and now its “our” album (haha). It’s the perfect cozy soft rock album.

TV On The Radio - Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes

I feel like this band doesn’t get enough love. They were part of the backbone of the early 2000s rock scene in Brooklyn. Walls of sound paired with Tunde Adebimpe’s bright and twangy punk voice made me completely fall in love.

Pulp - Different Class

My older sister showed me this album after we went through a phase of being obsessed w/ the movie “Trainspotting”. It’s been one of my old reliables ever since.

"It was corny then and
it's corny now"

Slowdive - Souvlaki

In the winter, my high school buddy and I used to drive around in my Civic with the windows down and the heater blasting to “When The Sun Hits”.. It was corny then and it’s corny now, but still, I’m glad at least this was the album we chose.

Amy Winehouse – Frank

I only got really into Amy last year. I obviously adore Back To Black but there’s something about Frank. I still belt out “You Sent Me Flying” or “Take The Box” in my car on the regular.
